"Show-Me" How to be NEAT
The “Show-Me” state has a lot going for it, and now it’s getting NEATer! We are pleased to announce Nicole Loiterstein is launching NEAT St. Louis! A natural-born organizer and former event coordinator, Nicole has what it takes to create beautiful, efficient and organized space for her Gateway City clients.
We know she’ll make a great addition and we hope you agree! Read her interview to see why we think Nicole is so NEAT.
NM :: We’re so glad you’re a NEAT girl Nicole! Tell us why you wanted to run NEAT in your city!
NL :: Recently a dear friend visited my home, took one look inside my pantry and imediately suggested I launch NEAT Method St. Louis! A few short weeks later, I traded my corporate job for the change to get out into my community to organize and stylize homes in order to leave my city a little bit NEATer!
NM :: You said you previously had a corporate job, what exactly did you do before NEAT?
NL :: Before joining NEAT, I was a corporate meeting and event planner for a Fortune 25 company. While I enjoyed the logistical details of moving people through events and experiences, I couldn’t be more excited about getting out from behind my desk and into my clients’ homes to start organizing!
NM :: What makes St. Louis so unique?
NL :: As a St. Louis native, I love that St. Louis has both big city attractions as well close-knit neighborhoods with distinct characteristics and features. St. Louis takes the top seat as the #1 Zoo in the country, is home to the oldest Botanical Gardens in the U.S. (with the most incredible children’s garden you’ve ever seen!), and also boasts the tallest monument in the Nation. From great music festivals like LouFest to stunning and impactful charity events – this city is thriving and a place I’m happy to call home!
NM :: As a true local, can you let us know your favorite places to shop in the city?
NL :: The Tower Grove Farmers’ Market is THE place to be on Saturday mornings! Don’t miss the freshly cut bouquets and out-of-this-world grilled cheese sandwiches smothered in local honey with a hint of salt. One of my other favorite places to visit is Bowood Farms – an urban greenhouse with beautiful home and garden gifts complete with an adjacent café perfect for Sunday brunch! And, because I have a train-loving toddler, the Frisco Train Store is a must-see!
NM :: We can’t stop thinking about that grilled cheese! Any other great places to grab a bite to eat?
NL :: Oh – where do I begin? At the top of my list of places to eat is Union Loafers in the Botanical Heights neighborhood – their nut butter sandwich is one of my VERY favorite things. Given though I don’t cook (much) – my family enjoys many of our meals just a short walk from our house in downtown Clayton – Half & Half, Oceano Bistro, Kaldi’s Coffee, Pastaria, even OPH where everyone knows our names.
NM :: You seem to have a lovely community! What do you think will be your favorite part of running NEAT?
NL :: I can’t wait to show my clients simple solutions that will literally change the way they live.
NM :: What can people expect when they hire you to organize their homes?
NL :: NEAT Method St. Louis is a team of hard-working, passionate, expert organizers. You’ll wonder how you ever got along before us. Clients can expect to become raving fans of NEAT Method.
NM :: What is your favorite product to use while organizing?
NL :: The 4-Sort Dividers from The Container Store are one of my favorite organizing products. At just under $5, this ‘filing’ tool organizes everything from reusable tote bags in the pantry to designer clutches in a closet.
NM :: As an organizer yourself, we’d love to see the most organized space in your home!
NL :: My most organized space is my entryway. What was once a pile of bags, shoes, accessories and an assortment of trucks (from the bottom of my purse) is now the first place my family stops to unload when we come home. It’s also the last place we stop to grab wallet-keys-phone and a truck before racing out the door. The Studio Wood Wall Shelf from Pottery Barn was a perfect fit for this space!
NM :: Beautiful! And there must be at least one space that isn’t so organized, care to share?
NL :: We recently moved from a condo to our forever home and I now have a bottomless pit of user manuals, set up guides and carbon copy service receipts stuffed in a kitchen drawer. It’s not something I have to look at often, so it’s been ignored since move in day. Come to think of it – it’s a collection of LIKE things so perhaps I’ve taken the first step to getting it organized – categorizing!
NM :: We love the way you think! Last question: now that you’re a business owner yourself, do you have a business you admire?
NL :: I admire my Dad’s business, he owns a very successful dental practice. As he nears retirement, I’m reminded that while he building his practice, he was able to make lifelong friends. He began caring for some patients at their 6-month check-ups and now he’s seeing three generations of families! As a family dentist he’s always remembered to put his family first. May we all aspire to be more like my dad and keep family at the heart of what we do.
NM :: We couldn’t agree more! And, speaking of family, let us be the first to officially welcome you to the NEAT family!
St. Louis, you have no idea how lucky you are to have Nicole! We are so excited for her to share the NEAT Method with the Gateway City.
