How To Make Organizing A Gift For Dad
Last week we shared gift ideas for the Father's in your life. But if 'Acts of Service' more accurately describes their love language you may want to consider tackling a small organizing project for them instead. Our SF girl, Lisa Ruff is here to offer a few ideas for spaces that would be quick and inexpensive to tackle and yet leave them beaming on June 18th. See what she has to say …
Before getting started, choose a space that he uses every day like his ties or tee shirts. He will appreciate the gesture even more. I like to focus on my husband’s morning routine. With two small kids, our mornings are crazy. So anything that makes it easier for him is a win for everyone.
Idea #1 Getting His Hair Did
Make his morning routine a breeze by implementing organizers in his bathroom drawer. Sort everything by type – dental, shaving, hair care, etc. Then purchase dividers like this to house everything. Now he can easily find what he needs.
Idea #2 Getting Dressed
I think this is helpful for guys who wear ties/belts everyday and those who save them for the occasional wedding. Sort them by color, roll them and then place them in a divided organizer like this one.
For an extremely impressive, yet gratis gift, file-fold his tee shirt drawer. I did this for my husband last Father’s Day. I couldn’t believe how happy it made him.
Idea #3 For His Down Time
Here’s the wildcard idea …. do you have a sports enthusiast at home? Even if you don’t approve of the hours spent yelling at the television, why don’t you show your home team support by creating a snack station?
Clear out a space in the garage, laundry room or basement. Then stock it with game day favorites, drinks and his lucky cozy. OXO containers like these make for great pretzel storage. When the season’s over, break down the snack station until next year.
We don't know about you but with Lisa leading the charge, we think San Francisco could win as the land of the happiest Dad's this Father's Day! Don't you agree?
