As we are sure you can tell, the NEAT team is a tight knit group. Did you know that ACTUAL SISTERS work on NEAT teams?? We are lucky enough to have Betsy AND Kassie Shirey on our Chicago and Scottsdale teams! A moment like this calls for a blog interview so let's hop to it!
NM:: Hi Kassie and Betsy! First things first, tell us your story – sisters? really?
Betsy:: Kassie married my brother in 2009 so officially sisters – in – law for 6 years!
NM:: Describe the other in one word!
Betsy:: Bubbly or beautiful are the first things to come to mind.
Kassie:: Genuine and Creative pretty much sums up Betsy.
NM:: Do you spend any holidays together? Any fun holiday traditions?
Betsy:: We would love to spend every holiday together, but with our family scattered across the country that isn't always possible. This year, we are meeting in North Carolina for Thanksgiving for an old family tradition of doing an oyster roast on the front lawn of great Aunt and Uncle's house.
Kassie:: In light of holiday season approaching I would like to add that an interesting Shirey family tradition (that I married into) is that they put crumbled hard-boiled eggs into their gravy and serve it on rice! I grew up in a mashed potatoes and gravy (no egg) home, and it is still odd to see white rice on the dinner table at holiday meal time.
NM:: How were you introduced to NEAT?
Betsy:: My friend and now co-worker, Lauren introduced me to Neat this year; I've been organizing left and right ever since!
Kassie:: Actually, my wonderful sister-in-law, BETSY, is the reason why I am now on the NEAT Scottsdale team! I had decided to stay at home with the kids after my second child was born, but after being a stay at home mommy for a year I was ready to get back into the working world on a part-time basis. Betsy raved about NEAT and the flexible schedule and mentioned that the Scottsdale team was looking to expand, and the rest is history.
NM:: What is your most organized space in your home?
Betsy:: My office 🙂 I turned one of my closets into a creative space/office; it brings me so much joy to have a totally organized space dedicated entirely to my hobbies.
Kassie:: The kids rooms, for sure. In order to keep my sanity, there is a place for all of their toys and it makes playtime and clean-up easier for them as well.
NM::What NEAT space is your favorite to organize?
Betsy:: Offices and craft rooms

NM:: What makes Scottsdale/Chicago great cities to live the NEAT life?
Betsy:: Chicago is an amazing city full of incredible opportunities and plenty of unique challenges when it comes to organizing spaces, especially since living space can be limited here. Living the NEAT life in Chicago has helped me get creative and stay organized year round!
Kassie:: Scottsdale is all about appearances and living the NEAT life only augments the beauty of any space.
