New NEAT City | Winston-Salem

It’s that time again! Launch week. This week we are launching new franchise owners and new markets! Let’s dive in to see who our new additions are.

We want to welcome Katie Buchanan of Winston-Salem. We are thrilled she’s a part of the team. Let’s find out more about what makes her so NEAT.

NM :: Why do you want to run NEAT in your city?

KB :: I have a true passion for simplifying and organizing my surroundings so that I, and my family, can live a more simple and efficient life. I would love nothing more than to help others do the same!

NM :: What did you do before NEAT?

KB :: I’ve held a few different roles over the years with common responsibilities. I am systems and operationally driven. I love problem solving, especially when there is a clear outcome. That is why I have no doubt I can translate a lot of what drives me into organizing Winston-Salem!

NM :: What makes your city unique

KB :: Winston-Salem is known as the Twin City’, or the Dash, due to Winston-Salem’s dual heritage and the merge of two neighboring towns Winston and Salem in 1913. Winston-Salem is also known as the Camel City, due to its historical involvement in the tobacco industry, and the city of Arts and Innovation. It is home to Wake Forest University and large companies like BB&T, Wells Fargo, Reynolds American, and Pepsi. Winston-Salem is also the home of Krispy Kreme and Texas Pete. I love living here as we get the best of both worlds: city life with a small town vibe! Winston-Salem is also a short drive to the mountains, where I like to escape to for some R&R!

NM :: How long have you lived in your city?

KB :: I have lived in and around Winston-Salem for four years! I grew up in Apex, North Carolina, moved out of state for a short stint, and relocated back to North Carolina in 2015!

NM :: What are your favorite places to shop in your city?

KB :: I am an avid online shopper! Anything that can save me time is a win in my book. I even order my groceries online! However, if I’m looking for something special or have the urge to browse I like to shop at bevello, Monkee’s of the Village, Mainstream Boutique, and Hip Chics Boutique and Gifts.

NM :: What are your favorite places to eat in your city?

KB :: My favorite places to eat in Winston Salem are Krankies, Camino (I am a sucker for a sweet treat and a good cup of coffee), Penny Path, First Watch, Village Tavern, Alma Mexicana, The Porch, Bib’s, TJ’s Deli, Mooney’s Cafe, Burke Street Pizza, Mozelle’s, Ryan’s, The Katharine Brasserie, just to name a few (can you tell I spend more time eating than I do shopping :)).

NM :: Show us a picture of your most organized space and tell us what it is.

KB :: We live in an older home, that has since been renovated, but we lack a true pantry and have limited kitchen space. Therefore, my most organized space has got to be our “pantry”. Now that our oldest is becoming more self sufficient I may tackle a snack drawer to free up some space!

NM :: Show us a picture of your least organized space and tell us what the heck happened.

KB :: My husband’s garage. Yikes! Let’s just say he doesn’t have the organization gene ;). One day I’ll help him tackle it!

NM :: What do you think is going to be your favorite part of running NEAT in your city?

KB :: I am looking forward to connecting and building relationships with people in my community!

NM :: What can people expect when they hire you to organize their home?

KB :: A personal but professional approach! None of us have perfectly curated homes at all times. The goal is to put systems in place that make tidying up easier and my clients day-to-day lives more simple and efficient!

NM :: Do you have any hidden talents that we should know about?

KB :: I love to bake! I’m a bit rusty after having babies as I don’t spend nearly as much time baking as I used to. Surprisingly enough, I am a messy baker, nothing neat about it! But I am quick to clean up! There is nothing better than a clean house and a sweet treat baking in the oven!

Congratulations! We’re so excited to have you join NEAT!

xx
