Molly's NEAT Nursery :: Hudson's Room
It's a fun day for the NEAT girls because we are taking a peek into the home of NEAT's co-founder, Molly. After she had Hudson, we were dying to see what his little Nursery ended up looking like! Here's Molly's perspective on how this space came together::
We rent an apartment so the space available for Hudson's nursery is quite small AND we couldn't paint so we had to get seriously CREATIVE! This bookshelf was actually a little cabinet. On the inside, had this beautiful wood so we ended up taking the doors off and using it to display all of his toys, books and frames. We also got this awesome Hess handplane that has Hudson's name custom painted on the board from our good friend and artist, Ian Ross. It was the perfect gift because it can be used when he is older but currently doubles as a bit of room decor!
Another good friend of ours got these little "army men" that are actually doing alternative sports like skateboarding, snowboarding and surfing. We loved them so much that we added them to the decor of the space as well. They are right up my husbands alley since those are the sports he loves to do! I'm also really lucky to have the worlds most crafty Mom – she seriously rivals Martha. She made the felt embroidered art at the top and it is extra special to have since my Mom made them. I also can't wait for him to be able to wear his Freshly Picked moccasins but for now, they are on display since they're SO CUTE!
Above Hudson's crib, we did a little art gallery of a few of our favorite things. My husband found the vintage San Diego Zoo pennant on one of our many driving adventures through California. We also had one of our favorite artists, Jenna from Vichcraft do a custom quote from a song called, "Oceans" that we both love. The, "You are So Loved" was purchased here.
Oddly enough, I had a hard time figuring out what kind of curtains belonged in this room so once again my crafty Mom made them with little pom poms on the edge that match his changing table. Hudson's mobile is probably his favorite thing in the entire room and once again ,my Mom made it! (I know… I am lucky!) 🙂
I ended up using a small dresser from CB2 for Hudson's changing table because I LOVED the color. Inside, I organized his diapers, pajamas, hats, shoes, and bandanas using our favorite drawer inserts from the Container Store.
Hudson's crib sheets are another custom make from my Mom (WHAT?!) and we have filled the corner of his crib with gifts from his close family and friends.
My sisters and Mom threw a shower for me complete with bedroom decor which was awesome! They found these FREE printable pieces here. The arrows were cut and sewed individually into "streamers" by…. MY MOM. Do you sense a theme here??
Overall, I am so happy with the curated feel that his room has and enjoy pointing out all of the fun pieces that come with love from his family and friends. This room is filled with love and giving and that's exactly how we want to raise Hudson!
I hope you enjoyed the little tour of his space! Feel free to ask any questions for further details on pieces in the comments section below!
