LA’s Turn to get NEAT
We are bursting with excitement to announce we are now officially in Los Angeles! Introducing the new NEAT LA girl Krisztina Galambos.
It takes a special girl to handle the organizing needs of Los Angeles, and Krisztina is the perfect girl for the job! We wanted you to get to know a bit more about her. Read her interview so you get to know her and why she makes the perfect addition to NEAT!
NM :: Welcome to NEAT, Krisztina! Tell us why you wanted to run NEAT LA!
KG :: I have always had a passion for anything to do with the home. I grew up with a father, and coincidentally a step dad, who both own their own construction businesses. Each frequently hauled me to their jobs sites to show off the incredible remodels they were working on. I found it very satisfying to see these dramatic transformations and how different it made homes feel. I knew I wanted to somehow be a part of this world but wasn’t quite sure how. I also had an obsession for HGTV and would watch Clean Sweep all the time! When I finally discovered NEAT, everything made sense. I don’t know to build a home but I do know how to organize! I couldn’t be happier to open my market and make powerful transformations like my family!
NM :: We’re so excited you launched too! What did you do before you ran NEAT?
KG :: I completed my degree in Early Childhood Education at the University of Washington. Like many, I realized I didn’t want to pursue a career in my field of study. I had been working with kids for many years already so when I moved to Los Angeles I decided to nanny until I figured out what was next. It was a rewarding experience that led to meeting many wonderful families and learning a lot about myself. It’s funny though because I would wait for the kids to nap and then instantly start organizing. Now I get to organize all the time!
NM :: You said you moved to LA, how long have you lived there?
KG :: I have been in Los Angeles for four years!
NM :: What have you found makes your city unique?
KG :: Los Angeles is a magical place that is hard to define because it means something different to everyone! There are so many people here from all over the world who bring something unique to offer. The atmosphere is very laid back, the sun is always shining, and the beach is our backyard. There is never a dull moment becasue there is always something fun to capture our attention. Makes it hard to leave!
NM :: We also know Los Angeles is awesome for shopping, what are your favorite spots to shop?
KG :: For clothing I always go to Zara and H&M. For the home, Home Goods and TJ Maxx – I could spend hours there!
NM :: And what about your favorite places to eat?
KG :: I am pretty simple as long as it’s healthy and has vegetarian optionns (which LA is great for). My regulars are Urth Cafe, Tender Greens and Panini Cafe. They all have such delicious food and for a reasonable price!
NM :: What can people expect when they hire you to organize their home?
KG :: I have a very upbeat and energetic personality. I feel compassion toward every person and their unique circumstances. There will be no judgement, just an eagerness to make everyone’s organizational dreams come true.
NM :: Your home must be pretty NEAT, what’s your most organized space?
KG :: My closet is the most organized space is my home. I don’t own a lot of stuff, so what I do have is all kept in my closet. For that reason it’s important it’s as NEAT as possible.
NM :: What about your least organized space?
KG :: This question makes me cringe because I like every space in the home to be NEAT. I’ll admit, the shared hall closet got out of hand for a while – keyword: shared. I finally couldn’t take it anymore and organized it anyway – and my roomate was totally okay with that.
NM :: I’m sure she appreciated that! What do you think is going to be your favorite part of running NEAT?
KG :: Organizing as much as I can! I love to make a space feel lighter, prettier and most importantly, functional. This is going to be a blast!
NM :: What is your favorite product to use to organize things?
KG :: Baskets are my thing, especially the Montauk Kitchen Bins from The Container Store.
NM :: Besides getting people organized, do you have any hidden talents?
KG :: I can put together an outfit that looks much more expensive than it really is. Too many years being broke during college! Had to get creative.
NM :: Do you follow any blogs that you think we NEED to start following?
KG :: I follow a lot of Instagram bloggers related to fashion, home and travel. Most Notably Alexandra Lapp for her killer outfits, Apartment Therapy for interior design ideas, and Conde Nast Traveler for gorgeous destination shots that make you wish you were there.
NM :: As a new business owner, do you have any businesses that you admire?
KG :: CreateCultiate and LeanIn are two amazing organizations that help women establish their dream careers. They offer conferences, workshops and events that inspire, motivate and create meaningful connections. I really value the work they do.
NM :: Anything else you’d like us to know?
KG :: I am absolutely thrilled to bring NEAT Method to Los Angeles and cannot wait to get organizing!
NM :: We can’t wait either! Welcome to the NEAT family, Krisztina!
Los Angeles, get excited!! Krisztina is about to make everyone in La La Land NEAT.
xx,
