Admiring April :: NuttZo
We are sad to say that April is nearly over which means so is our Admiring April series. However, we will continue to give love to all of the brands out there that inspire us no matter what month it is!!
The good news is that we have saved one of the best for last! Meeting Danielle Dietz-LiVolsi, the amazing Founder of NuttZo!
NM :: So it's no secret we admire you and the brand you have created with NuttZo. Can you give our readers a brief overview of the history and what makes your products so amazing?
Danielle :: The inception of NuttZo began in April 2002 when I met our first son, Gregory (then 3-1⁄2 years old), who was extremely vitamin deficient. Greg was very picky eater who did not like any textures or lots of chewing. He had grown up with a vey narrow food selection of mostly porridges and watery soups. Matthew was adopted in 2005 at 1-1/2 years old. He was vitamin deficient as well but not a ‘picky eater’ like Greg.
Health and nutrition are passions of mine, so I got an idea for a vegan source of protein. I blended peanuts (legumes) with 6 different nuts and seeds to make a yummy vitamin/mineral-rich complete protein. I added flax for its healthy Omega 3 ALAs. Voila, NuttZo was born!
Simultaneously with the launch of NuttZo, my husband and I founded our nonprofit, Project Left Behind (PLB). NuttZo is a proud supporter of PLB, which has projects helping children in Nepal, India and Peru. Each jar of NuttZo purchased helps orphaned and neglected children!
NM :: We love that your product was inspired by your boys and that it all started in your kitchen! While we are sure making a nut butter can get a little messy sometimes, what is one tip or product you love to keep your kitchen organized?
Danielle :: With 2 hungry teenage boys in the house, our food closet can get very disorganized quickly… so one trick that Katie from NEAT Method helped me implement was designated and marked bins for snacks, pasta, and smoothies. This was ingenious and worked so well that now the whole family can keep the food closet organized!
NM :: We clearly stalk your Instagram and everything you post looks so delicious! Can you share your latest greatest recipe that uses Nuttzo?
Danielle :: I eat between 2-6 NuttZo Cups per day… no kidding. I grew up in the ‘80s being told fats were bad (which was WAY WRONG) and now I can’t get enough healthy fats. One of my all time favorite recipes is ….
1 jar of NuttZo Original Peanut 7 Nut & Seed butter
½ cup melted coconut oil
¼ cup melted ghee or grass-fed butter
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp ginger
1 tsp cloves
1 tsp nutmeg
4 scoops high-grade collagen
2T honey
Mix all ingredients together over low heat. Put mini paper cups in mini muffin tins. Fill each muffin tin ¾ full. Refrigerate or freeze until solid. Store in glass container in the refrigerator. Devour for breakfast, snack, lunch, dinner or bedtime snack.
NM :: Yum, we can't wait to make thoseIs there any other NEAT news or tips that you would like to share with our readers?
Danielle :: I can’t say enough about using NEAT Method to organize my home and office. It has helped me stay focused and less stressed. Being organized and feeling clutter-free just keeps my day-to-day operations running smoothly. Organization does not come easy to me, so Katie has helped me put in steps to make my household run like a top. I know where to find items quickly and I know where to store them, which saves me time and anxiety.
Aww we love that you got to work with Katie and are enjoying living the NEAT life. Thanks for sharing your success story with us!
