Top 5 Things You Must Know for Thanksgiving Prep
As we begin to prepare for this holiday season, we cannot help but be completely humbled by the amazing year it has been for NEAT Method. We are so grateful for every single person who has helped make 2012 our most successful year yet.
To show you just how thankful we are for YOU and your support for NEAT, we want to give you all the tips you need to have a stress-free and organized Turkey Day!
Okay first thing's first … do you have a final head count?? If not, you may have to remind Uncle Jim one more time that he hasn't gotten back to you. We all have one of them in the family! Once the guest list is final, order your bird. Figure on 1 pound of unstuffed turkey per person, or 1.3 pounds if you enjoy the leftovers as much as we do!
Now we all know that the turkey is nothing without the mashed potatoes, stuffing, roasted veggies and cranberry sauce. So it's time to plan out the rest of the meal! Our favorite tool for painless meal planning is this adorable Gobble Guide. OH, and don't forget to make a detailed grocery list: this one should give you a great head start!
Now onto the fun part … planning your table decorations! We are (obviously) loving the idea of a clean and simple design for this year's display. Most importantly, here is a checklist to see what you will need to entertain your guests!
CHECKLIST ::
:: Table linens for each table, napkins and placemats for each guest (dry-cleaned and pressed)
:: One dinner plate, salad plate and cultery set for each guest
:: Water glass and wine glass for each guest (we love a nice glass of red, it just makes the post-meal nap that much better)
:: Serving platter and serveware for each dish
:: Flowers, candles or gourds for centerpieces
:: Napkin rings (optional)
:: And of course a cute apron, we love this one
Martha Stewart provides a simple, yet glamorous, Thanksgiving table!
Pinecone turkey placecards are a nice personable and festive touch!
Pottery Barn inspires us with a clean and effortless table design!
Lastly, make sure everyone is in the Thanksgiving spirit!
We hope that you, too, are feeling overwhelmed with gratitude this year – and we want to encourage you to spend some time showing your friends and family just how thankful you are for them! 🙂
Enjoy feasting on the possibilities of making this the best Thanksgiving ever! Have a delicious, delightful and de-cluttered holiday!
